Our Client represents producers from around the globe of specialty chemicals and food and pharmaceutical ingredients used in various markets and essential for making thousands of products necessary for everyday life. Their team of high caliber technical and commercial specialists advises their customers on function, formulation and application of products. Their efforts are supported by laboratories and innovative IT solutions. They are now seeking a Product Manager for a range of Speciality Chemicals to be based at thier offices in the South East. You will be responsible for the Group relationship with a ‘key suppliers’ range of specialty chemicals throughout all European countries, Turkey and South Africa. Key Responsibilities • Become the primary contact with ‘the supplier’ for all commercial, technical and development issues related to the ‘product range’ • To help formulate and then implement the sales and technical development strategy throughout the Group (The majority of sales will be handled directly by the local affiliate) • To be responsible for a number of key accounts throughout Europe • To liaise with the relevant application networks to ensure that all products are being promoted correctly • To liaise with the technical development laboratories to develop new applications • To overview and take responsibility for the overall supply chain for the specific product range • Negotiate purchase and sales contracts with relevant drum suppliers, drumming and warehousing facilities • To grow the business by >10% year on year • Monitor customer service, technical and product requirements • Support other members of the team to develop the overall Client / Supplier relationship • Support the development of new distributorships Qualifications and Experience • Possess solid commercial experience in the chemical industry • Be a dynamic self starter with excellent communications skills • Have a high class Honours Degree or equivalent in a Scientific discipline • Possess the ability to interface effectively with commercial and technical contacts from a range of major international companies • Be willing to travel throughout Europe • Be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines and to prioritise accordingly • Be a team worker with a friendly manner • Be IT literate • This is a fast developing area and, as such, offers the successful Candidate an excellent opportunity to utilise and develop their commercial skills.
